Two Harbors fielded their first varsity team in 1904. They didn't start wearing helmets until about 1924. Thanks to Dereck G. for this historical information.

Virginia football program began in 1903. The team wore a thin leather helmet with one chin strap from the start of the program in 1903 until 1928.

Thanks to Ed C. and Dan Haege for the information Virigina's historical helmets. Dan's father, Art, was the head coach of Virigina from 1971-1976.
